Since Ascension St. Matthew’s is a merged congregation of Episcopal and Lutheran traditions, as well as affirmed members who come from other church traditions, the composition of the leadership was built to reflect the diversity of our church community. The clergy that serves our congregation could be a pastor, deacon, priest, vicar or a bishop.

The Governing Board has general oversight of the life and activity of the congregation and will support clergy in his/her role as the chief ecclesiastical and administrative officer of the parish or congregation, subject to the authority of the Episcopal Diocesan Bishop and/or the Lutheran Synod Bishop.

The voting membership of the Governing Board consists of clergy, his/her appointed Senior Warden, and six elected members, the Treasurer or Co-Treasurer and the Secretary/Clerk. Below is the full Constitution and Bylaws that govern our ministry.
