About Us Ascension St. Matthew's (ASM) is a blended, merged, or united congregation (all those descriptions apply) of  Episcopalian and Lutheran roots, formed in 1984. WORSHIP Lively worship built on two solid liturgical traditions. Weekly communion as the norm for worship: WORD and Sacrament at the center of our life and faith. Joyful, loud, laughter-filled Fellowship times. A wonderful choir. A truly dedicated and faithful Altar Guild. A deep sense of community connection, support, and caring. COMMUNITY A community-wide Pancake Supper every Shrove Tuesday (day before Ash Wed.) An every-year-amazing Vacation Bible School. An always moving Christmas pageant performed by our young people. A wonderful Fall Fair. A women's group that provides support to the community. A well-stocked gift shop. Crafters, quilters, an amazingly talented group. LEARNING ASM Power & Light CO, our Wednesday event-based educational opportunity for children, young people, and adults. Adult Forum/Bible study. Noon Text Study (reading the lessons for the upcoming Sunday.) Youth Group meets on Third Sunday of the month. FELLOWSHIP Excellent potlucks every First Sunday of the month. Famous Dutch-oven dinner. "Ethnic-themed" dinners once a year. (Most recent was Hawaiian.) Ascension St. Matthew's is for everyone, no matter where they are in the walk through life.
